UNISON is balloting for strike action at QMU

UNISON Higher EducationVote now in the strike ballot! The vote closes on January 18th

UNISON is balloting its members at Queen Margaret University in response to potential compulsory redundancies in the coming weeks.

QMU is carrying out a wide-ranging ‘Transformation’ to achieve steep cost savings. Academic union UCU is also balloting it’s membership at the university.

We want to do all we can to save jobs and keep any severance truly voluntary. To achieve this, members must back their union negotiators and maintain pressure on university bosses to do the right thing. An agreement to seek redundancies by purely voluntary means will be enough to end our dispute with Queen Margaret University.

Union-side alternatives have not been fully costed or explored by the University – UNISON will fight to make sure compulsory redundancies are an absolute last resort.

Back your representatives by voting and voting YES in the ballot, before January 18th.
