The work carried out by ELAM, the Latin American School of Medicine, is incredible. They provide medical training throughout Latin America and now Asia and Africa where the importance of the training of young doctors is essential.

Training to most developing nations is provided free and when this doctors finish their training they return home as fully qualified doctors who have had practical on the spot experience and can provide medical help right away. Excellent training in all areas of medicine.

This was very evident during the Ebola outbreak in Africa. In 2014, Cuba sent 103 nurses and 62 doctors to help fight the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa, the biggest contribution of health care staff by any single country.
