The Chief Nursing Officer has issued a letter updating the guidance round the wider use of face masks and face coverings in hospitals and care homes. Links to all the guidance are contained in the letter. This supplements rather than replaces the current guidance.
Face masks and coverings prevent the wearer from passing on COVID-19. Correct use and disposal are essential if masks are to be effective. Members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the guidance, use their professional judgement to assess risks and take the necessary action based on that assessment.
