UNISON Scotland is supporting this year’s Scottish Health Awards. These awards recognise those that go above and beyond to improve the health and wellbeing of others. In a period when staff across health and social care have been rising to the many challenges of dealing with COVID-19, there’s never been a better time to recognise and reward them for what they have been doing day-in and day-out.
The Scottish Health Awards are run by the Daily Record in partnership with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government. More details are available here. In order to support highlight the work of members UNISON is encouraging branches to seek nominations for all of the 16 awards and in particular the three UNISON Awards. The sixteen award categories are:

• Young Achiever Award

• Care for Mental Health Award
• Integrated Care Award
• Tackling Health Inequalities Award

• Global Citizenship Award
• People’s Choice Award

NHS Glasgow Clyde & CVS is sponsoring the Nursing Award
Lothian Health is sponsoring the Support Worker Award
Branches are asked to circulate details and the link as widely as possible via social media and noticeboards.
Hopefully this year’s Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 4 November in the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh (subject to COVID Guidelines nearer the time.) Therefore branches must contact Willie Duffy as soon as possible to indicate an interest in a table/seats. Further information will follow re tables/accommodation.
