UNISON Scotland’s regional manager Kay Sillars, with other unions, met John Swinney in the Scottish parliament to discuss pay.
Commenting after the meeting UNISON regional manager Kay Sillars said: “It is unacceptable for public service workers to still be waiting for a pay offer when they were due a cost-of-living increase last month.
“We welcome open dialogue with the First Minister so he understands the issues facing our members. But it is over one hundred days since we submitted our NHS pay claim and the staff have heard nothing, and similar delays for council staff mean we are preparing strike ballots as we speak.”
“John Swinney needs to focus on investing in public services and the people who deliver them. Public services keep society running and without them Scotland would come to a standstill.”
