Brenda Massie, Aberdeen City branch, also spoke in support of Motion 38, reinforcing the need for urgent action to address the housing crisis affecting remote and rural areas.
She highlighted the impact that the shortage of affordable housing is having on workers, families and public services, making it increasingly difficult to attract and retain staff in key frontline roles.
Brenda emphasised that housing is fundamental to thriving communities and resilient public services. She urged conference to support the motion and press for greater investment in affordable and key worker housing to ensure rural and island communities can continue to recruit, retain and support the workforce they rely on.
