The Scottish Government is consulting on its draft Statutory Guidance for safe staffing in health and care.
The Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) – known as the Safe Staffing Act – was passed in 2019 and comes into force in April 2024.
The Guidance is to help care service providers – public , private and third sector – comply with their duties on safe and appropriate staffing.
The briefing outlines what the Statutory Guidance covers in relation to care services so that UNISON activists and members can input their views.
