This is the Summary of a report commissioned by UNISON Scotland from APSE, the Association for Public Service Excellence and draws upon APSE’s work with local authorities across the UK.
It summarises the case for the direct public delivery of social care and sets out the initial steps we can take towards this. It shows why direct public service delivery is both affordable and necessary and aims to begin a serious conversation about a national strategy for achieving this.
