Black History Month is a time for us to elevate Black voices and celebrate Black communities’ contribution to life in Britain.
UNISON Black members have always been part of our history. We celebrate their contribution this October. Let us all pledge to work together to end racism and inequality.

Black Women at Work online TUC seminar, 18 Nov 11am to 3.30pm
The TUC is organising a online seminar to discuss the problems faced by Black women in the workplace. The TUC Black Women at Work online seminar on 18 November to discuss the problems faced by Black women in the labour market. Black women are concentrated in occupations in front line jobs such as carers and nurses with a higher risk of exposure to coronavirus and loss of jobs. These jobs are undervalued, low-paid and insecure with fewer rights. Black women trade unionists have been at the forefront of the fight for equality and they must be again. This event is an opportunity for you to connect to other Black women trade unionist and discuss how the trade union movement can tackle the problems of racism and gender discrimination that exist in the workplace, register today.
