There are payroll problems for staff working at Glasgow university. It appears that 9,000 staff have not been paid today. UNISON is investigating, and we are in touch with senior management about the situation.
UNISON branch chair at University of Glasgow, Sophie Watson said: “We understand there are technical issues with a number of banks. However, the university need to get this fixed urgently and compensate any staff who are out of pocket. Rent, mortgages and direct debits could go unpaid, and staff could go overdrawn and incur further charges. UNISON is in contact with management and staff, and we are trying to get answers from the university to see when this will be resolved, and we will support staff who need further advice”.
