Margaret Mugyenyi, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde CVS branch, also spoke in support of Amendment 28.6, emphasising that economic insecurity and the cost of living crisis have left many working people feeling abandoned.
She argued that the trade union movement must respond by offering practical solutions that improve people’s lives rather than allowing division and blame to take hold.
Margaret supported the amendment’s call for a stronger campaign against austerity and for investment in jobs, homes and public services. She stressed that by tackling inequality and standing up for all workers, UNISON can provide the positive alternative needed to challenge Reform UK and unite communities.
