Nadine Law, Dundee City branch spoke in support of Amendment 28.6, arguing that many working-class people are turning towards Reform UK out of frustration with austerity, the rising cost of living and a belief that mainstream politics has failed to deliver for their communities.
She stressed that the answer is not to dismiss those voters, but to offer a credible alternative based on investment, secure jobs, quality public services and hope.
Nadine backed the amendment’s call for UNISON to step up its campaign against austerity and for jobs, homes and services, arguing that tackling the root causes of inequality and insecurity is the most effective way to challenge Reform UK’s politics of division and win support for trade union values.
