Scottish government financial strategy, UNISON comment

UNISON Scotland regional secretary, Tracey Dalling said: “We fully support the Scottish government’s three missions, equality, opportunity, and community but they can’t be achieved without properly funded public services. This requires more funding than the Scottish government seems prepared to raise.

The Scottish government can’t continue to blame Westminster for lack of funding while they show so little drive in using the powers they have to raise revenue to change things.”

Editors notes:

UNISON is the Scotland’s largest union. Our 150,000 members work across public services – in local government, the NHS, education, police service, energy and water. They are employed in the public, voluntary and private sectors.
