Responding to reports of some universities’ intention to make salary deductions from UCU members taking part in a marking ban, UNISONs Higher Education Committee were unequivocal in their message of support for our sister unions action.
Chair of UNISON Scotland’s Higher Education Committee, Allison Buchanan said: “UNISON fully supports University and College Union’s marking ban as part of their ongoing pay dispute with Universities and Colleges Employers Association. We condemn some universities decision to make pay deductions on the back of this action, in some cases by as much as 100%, as unnecessary and inflammatory.
