After three flights, 33 hours and 9,884 kilometres we arrived safely in Brazil, reports Louise Giblin.
Louise Giblin (Member of UNISON’s Scottish International Committee) & Kaila McCulloch (Vice Chair of the committee) have arrived on their field trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
They will visit occupied settlements and meeting with rural workers and the union FERAESP, gaining a good insight into the work and projects going on in Araraquara and Bela Vista.
We were picked up by Prof Larissa Bombardi from Sau Paulo university and Kendra & Tito, two of the other delegates.
It’s mid winter in Brazil and 21 degrees, my dad took great delight in telling me it was warmer in Dundee!
We had a rest day in Sau Paulo, Tito showed us the sights in his lovely Land Rover which is to be our transport around Brazil over the coming week.
Off to Araraquara tomorrow to meet with the rest of the delegation
